VENUE LOCATION

C-DAC Thiruvananthapuram in association with MeitY invites partcipants from diverse sectors  for the development of innovative and sustainable indigenous solutions for GLOF mitigation.

Overview

As climate change accelerates the melting of glaciers and the formation of unstable glacier lake systems, the risk of glacier lake outburst floods (GLOFs) has become a critical concern for communities in vulnerable regions. This challenge offers participants a unique opportunity to develop innovative solutions aimed at mitigating the devastating impacts of GLOFs. Participants are encouraged to explore strategies for monitoring and managing glacier lakes, designing early warning systems, and implementing effective engineering measures to reduce flood risks. The focus is on creating practical and scalable solutions that can protect lives and infrastructure from the destructive forces of GLOFs, ultimately contributing to the resilience and safety of affected communities.

To participate, register your team through HIMASHIELD official website and submit a detailed description of your proposed system, its capabilities, and how it will solve the problem. We will evaluate all proposals based on their innovation, technical feasibility, and potential impact on society.

So, get ready to push the boundaries of innovation and join us at HIMASHIELD 2024 to bring your ideas to life!
